It started as an idea in Manchester
Buzz was started by an operator and an accountant who wanted a firm built around the owner rather than the year end. Manchester, Hertford and London were all there from the beginning. This is how it has grown since.

The short history
- 1The idea, in Manchester
Buzz started as Andy Jackson's idea, in Manchester. Andy builds professional-services businesses and had bought and integrated accountancy firms himself, so he had seen the same thing from the inside more than once: owners paying a firm all year and hearing from it once, ten months after the year they were asking about. The brief was a firm that works with an owner through the year instead.
- 22023: two founders
Andy brought in Peter Allen, an accountant with more than twenty years behind him who had grown his own firm client by client and could build the technical side properly. Buzz Accounting Ltd was incorporated in October 2023.
- 3Manchester, Hertford and London from the start
All three were there from day one rather than added later. Manchester is where the idea came from and where Andy is from; the Salford and Leigh offices serve Greater Manchester, Wigan and the towns around them, which is why so many of those towns have a page here. Hertford is where Peter works and where the first Hertfordshire clients came from. London is the registered office, and a large share of our clients have always been London businesses.
- 4Pretoria
A lot of the bookkeeping, reporting and day-to-day processing behind every Buzz client happens in our Pretoria office, where a team of senior and semi-senior accountants works UK hours. Work is reviewed by the UK team before it reaches a client. It is a large part of why Buzz can give every client a named accountant at a fixed monthly fee, and we say so openly on our regulatory information page.
- 52026: Northern Ireland
Buzz Accounting Ireland opened in Ballymena, bringing a long-established local practice into the group with the accountant its clients already knew. Northern Ireland is now our largest base, and the team there has real experience of the cross-border detail that applies to businesses moving goods.
- 6Today: one team, several brands
Buzz Accounting sits alongside Buzz Coaching, Buzz Money Coach, Buzz Legal and Buzz Financial Planning, run by the same people on the same plain-speaking approach. We also build our own software, Buzz OS, which is what runs the client portal and app.
