From an idea in Hertford to offices in England, Northern Ireland and South Africa

Andy Jackson builds professional-services businesses and had bought and integrated accountancy firms himself. Peter Allen is an accountant with more than twenty years behind him who had grown his own firm client by client. They started Buzz to build the firm they kept wishing existed: one that works with an owner through the year rather than turning up at the year end. Buzz Accounting Ltd was incorporated in October 2023.

Buzz has been based in Hertford since the beginning; it is where Peter works, and the first clients came from Hertfordshire and London. The company is registered in north London and still looks after a large share of London businesses.

Andy is from the north-west, and the firm opened offices in Salford and Leigh to serve Greater Manchester, Wigan and the towns around them. It is why the site has a page for so many of those towns: they are places where we actually meet people.

A lot of the bookkeeping, reporting and day-to-day processing behind every Buzz client happens in our Pretoria office, where a team of senior and semi-senior accountants works UK hours. Work is reviewed by the UK team before it reaches a client. It is a large part of why Buzz can give every client a named accountant at a fixed monthly fee, and we say so openly on our regulatory information page.

Buzz Accounting Ireland opened in Ballymena, bringing a long-established local practice into the group with the accountant its clients already knew. Northern Ireland is now our largest base, and the team there has real experience of the cross-border detail that applies to businesses moving goods.

Buzz Accounting sits alongside Buzz Coaching, Buzz Money Coach, Buzz Legal and Buzz Financial Planning, run by the same people on the same plain-speaking approach. We also build our own software, Buzz OS, which is what runs the client portal and app.
